The first 2 weeks were spent going over old ground in Perth and then at Dunsborough in Margaret River region, with Niki at her holiday home. And, wonderful friend that she is, she has loaned us her car for the rest of our trip - had to make her hitch a lift home to Perth, but am sure she made it!
A great time spent chilling out in beaches, cafes, wineries, micro-breweries, chocolate and ice cream shops and a lot of excellent coastal walking. Didn't have the energy to create a blog, but now we are started on our trip around the South West, there are lots of new things to see and talk about and a blog seems the best way to keep Niki and cousin Allan (in the US) up to date. As well as being a good reminder for ourselves when printed out in the future.
And for any other friends interested in our tales - then read on. This first one is just a review of the 2 weeks - the next one is our encounters with animals - venomous snakes and pretty birds! Snake haters can miss the next post!
Various places along the Cape to Cape path on the West coast around 2 hrs south of Perth near Dunsborough and the Margaret River region - hot walking in exposed conditions so only a few short walks at a time - not like walking the fells in our summer!
Bunker Bay - great cafe overlooking great beach
Chocolate Factory revisit - stocked up on old favourite Chocolate covered liquorice - yummeeeee!
Next up views of of the bush (more to come later in trip) and lunch at winery - they all do speciality platters of local goodies, cheese and pates.
Busselton Pier - long walk to the end and this signpost.
Lots of you would love this micro brewery, Eagle Bay. Loads of these to challenge the wineries with great food as well as tasting the beer/wine
Piccies of meals and drinking a bit boring, unless you are partaking.
